Management Meeting Checklist
A simple checklist so every management meeting runs on the same methodology: prepared, decision focused, and followed up. About twenty points across before, during and after.
Purpose. Meetings create value only when they end in decisions with owners and dates. This checklist keeps every management meeting consistent and turns reporting into action.
How to use this checklist
Run through it for each meeting. Tick each item as it is confirmed. Print it or keep it open during the meeting.
Before the Meeting
1All reports are prepared and distributed in advance.
2KPIs are updated and validated.
3Budget vs actual is ready.
4Exceptions and variances are identified.
5Previous action items are gathered with their status.
6The agenda is set and shared.
7An owner is confirmed for each topic.
During the Meeting
8Previous action items are reviewed and status is confirmed.
9Performance against plan is reviewed.
10Exceptions are discussed with their root cause.
11Key decisions are made and recorded.
12Each decision has a named owner.
13Each action has a due date.
14Risks and issues are raised and noted.
After the Meeting
16The action list is circulated.
17Owners and due dates are confirmed in writing.
20The next meeting is scheduled.
The bottom line
A management meeting is not a status update. It is where reporting becomes action. Prepare it, decide in it, and follow up after it, every time, and reporting starts to move the business.
